Guess who’s back… back again? Yes, your eyes do not deceive you! While the folks at mStoner are looking for a new host for Student Affairs Live, I have been brought out of retirement to fill in for the next three episodes! Excited to dust off my hosting hat and get back in the chair for some fresh takes on Student Affairs Live!
This week’s show focused on “Pursuing a Doctorate as a Student Affairs Professional”, a topic that I am very familiar with now My guests were Josie Ahlquist, Institutional Review Board Doctoral Assistant at California Lutheran University; Jeff Jackson, Director of Student Life at the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio; and Niki Rudolph, Director of Student Affairs at Michigan State University’s Residential College in the Arts & Humanities.
The focus of the conversation was for those interested in, currently pursuing, or recently completed doctoral programs while still working in Student Affairs! These three folks are fantastic research-practitioners who brought a lot to the show. I was super excited about how the show went and hope you enjoy it as well… please watch the replay above!
If you have any questions, or comments, please leave them in the comments below, or tweet them, adding the #SAlive hashtag! We hope you can join us LIVE on Wednesday, but if not, feel free to watch the replay in syndication!
(Source) I am a doctoral student at California Lutheran University, studying Higher Education Leadership. My primary professional experience is working within Higher Education, developing college students in a field called Student Affairs. Many call us party planners, or in my husband’s industry of entertainment, I am called a Producer. In many ways I am, producing memories for students that will enhance their campus experiences. I am drawn to challenging the norm of higher education, to seek innovations that will keep up with evolving technologies and needs of our students, as well as, understanding and preparing for the next wave of college students.
