Folks in the higher ed industry have a lot of ways to stay connected. Whether it’s at conferences, through blogs or online, we do our best to use the tools available to foster dialogue around the various issues and challenges we face every day. But when it comes to social networking, most of our online communities reflect the same silos we face within our own internal structures. Whether it’s academica.org, for researchers, or UWebNing, for university web developers, we have robust online communities for the niches where we reside. But is there an opportunity for one platform to bring us all together? Whether faculty or staff, administrators or external advocates, could there be one place to foster cross-division dialogue? It’s a lofty goal, but that’s exactly what Bob Ertischek has set out to do with the upcoming launch of Profology.com.
Profology is planning to launch their public beta on January 3rd, but in the meantime head on over to Profology.com to sign up for updates and information.
