One of the most unique engagement program strategies in higher education, this edition of Advancement Live features the CIRCLES corporate networking events program created by Stacy Mitz and Charles Ries at Marquette University. Stacy Mitz, Assistant VP Engagement, and Charles Ries, Senior Director for Development, will talk about the origin of the CIRCLES program that focuses on industry specific events for alumni, parents and students including CEO Roundtables. In addition, the discussion will include how faculty speakers have been infused into CIRCLES events, how the program has become self-sustaining since it’s creation almost ten years ago through the generosity of many sponsors, and how multiple major gift donors have been identified cultivated through CIRCLES.
Ryan CatherwoodRyan Catherwood is the Assistant VP for Alumni and Career Services at Longwood University. Prior to joining Longwood, he was the Director of Digital Strategy in the University Advancement office at the University of Virginia. His work is dedicated to strategies that utilize events, crowdsourcing, inbound and content marketing, email marketing and social media community management in order to drive alumni and student engagement, participation, connections, networking, volunteerism and giving at Longwood University.
Stacy MItz is the Assistant Vice President for Engagement at Marquette University and co-founder of the CIRCLES program.
Charles Ries is the Senior Director of Development Design and Innovation at Marquette University and co-founder of CIRCLES.
