Laura Wall Klieves

The daughter of a retired elementary school teacher, Laura’s unrequited love is teaching. And with three decades of experience as a marketing executive for big and small advertising agencies and clients, Laura brings a vast knowledge of visual story to Duarte.

Today, Laura serves as Duarte’s VP of Marketing and Academy – a dual role that keeps her busy. In the latter role, Laura oversees the workshop content and design as well as the facilitation and sales teams. She joined Duarte in 2010, just months after the very first Slide:ology workshop was created, and has been instrumental in expanding Nancy Duarte’s award-winning books into three additional instructor-led workshops, and an award-winning eCourse.

Laura is a third-generation native San Franciscan, whose maternal grandmother survived the 1906 Earthquake. She’s a second-generation graduate from San Francisco State University, with a BS in Business Administration, focused on Marketing and Advertising. And when she’s not working, Laura is a proud Girl Scout AND Boy Scout leader, for her daughter and son.

When Laura has the opportunity to facilitate a workshop, she brings a wealth of experience in great visual design and storytelling from the trenches and weaves these stories into the learning throughout the workshop. Her energetic and easy-going style creates a great learning environment.
