The annual AMA Symposium for the Marketing of Higher Education is November 15-18 in Chicago. With more than 1,000 attendees, it is the largest event exploring the challenges and trends shaping marketing in higher education. In this episode of Marketing Live, conference keynote speaker Dan Dillon Jr. and conference co-chair Deb Maue will join host Rob Zinkan to preview #AMAHigherEd and the key topics and issues to be discussed.
Rob ZinkanRob Zinkan has been with Indiana University for 15 years and is currently in a system-wide role as associate vice president for marketing – working to develop, champion, and deploy the university’s brand strategy; leading IU’s internal full-service marketing agency; and serving as marketing liaison to the flagship campus leadership and marketing community. Previously, he worked at the campus level as vice chancellor for external affairs at Indiana University East and assistant dean for advancement at Indiana University–Purdue University Columbus (IUPUC). Rob earned his bachelor's degree from Wabash College, master's from Xavier University, and doctorate from Creighton University. He serves on the CASE Commission on Communications and Marketing, contributes to Inside Higher Ed's Call to Action blog, and is a past chair of CASE Indiana.
Dan Dillon Jr.
Dan Dillon Jr. is senior vice president and chief marketing officer at Arizona State University. He was appointed CMO in 2013 to lead branding and marketing activities across the university. Dan is a seasoned executive with more than 25 years in domestic and global general management roles in both the consumer packaged goods and restaurant industries. Previous senior roles included chief marketing officer for Outback Steakhouse and executive vice president and chief branding officer for Ruby Tuesday.
Deborah Maue is vice president for strategic marketing and communications at Columbia College Chicago. Prior to joining Columbia College earlier in 2015, Deb served as senior strategist at mStoner. She has also served as associate vice president for marketing strategy at DePaul University. Deb has more than 20 years of experience in consumer packaged goods and higher education marketing. She is co-chair of the AMA Symposium for the Marketing of Higher Education Committee.
